SOCIAL CARE & DISABILITY - KURDISTAN & IRAQ - SKL INTERNATIONAL

Photo story of one key family receiving services from SKL International. This widow has been internally displaced due the ongoing conflict in Iraq. She struggles to support her disabled children. Her husband was visually impaired and she believes it was genetic as each of her children were born with visually difficulties.  Additionally one of her children has a mental illness. Shunned from society and with no income SKL International have been supporting this family to get everyday help and to socialise them within their new community. SKL International works in social care across Kurdistan and Iraq support the disabled, elderly, internally displaced persons. Disability is still seen as a taboo in these regions which leaves families like this isolated and without the support of SKL without hope.
